What is AI Background Removal?

In e-commerce and custom print setups (like t-shirts, mugs, or stickers), customers often upload standard photographs. To print the subject (e.g. a face, pet, or logo) without its surrounding background, the background must be removed.

Filecheck embeds a serverless AI Background Removal tool directly into the upload workflow, allowing merchants to automate subject isolation.

The Print Risk: Printing Unwanted Background Borders

If a background is not removed prior to printing:

• Ugly Rectangles: Photos printed on colored t-shirts or custom-shaped stickers will show the square camera background border.
• Manual Editing Labor: Prepress designers have to manually open Photoshop to mask out backgrounds, slowing down shipping times and increasing production costs.
