How Filecheck protects the files your customers upload.
When your customers upload files, Filecheck processes them on your behalf. Our Data Processing Agreement sets out how: what we store, where, for how long, and who else touches it.
Every storage bucket is encrypted with AES-256, and our databases are encrypted at rest by AWS.
The API, dashboard and upload Element only accept TLS connections.
Customer files live in private storage. Downloads use signed links that expire after 60 minutes, and webhook delivery links after 24 hours.
Raw uploads land in a working bucket that deletes them automatically after 2 days.
Originals, reports, fixed files and proofs are kept until you delete the job. Older file versions expire after 30 days.
Databases keep 35 days of point-in-time recovery. Production access is limited to the account owner with multi-factor authentication.
Payments are handled by Stripe, which never receives your files.
Found a vulnerability? Email filecheck@print.app with "Security report" in the subject and steps to reproduce. We will confirm receipt and keep you posted until it is fixed.
Filecheck is built to help you meet the GDPR. We act as your data processor under Article 28, store and process files in Frankfurt, delete them when you delete the job, and our Data Processing Agreement is part of the Terms of Service.
The DPA already applies through our Terms of Service. If your legal team needs a countersigned copy, email filecheck@print.app and we will send one.
In AWS EU-Central 1 (Frankfurt, Germany). If you configure delivery to your own S3 bucket, SFTP server or webhook, processed files are also sent there.
Only in two cases. When a fix uses background removal or upscaling, that image is sent to fal.ai in the United States under the EU standard contractual clauses in fal.ai's Data Processing Addendum. When you compile a spec, the spec sheet and product page text are sent to OpenRouter in the United States, which relies on the EU standard contractual clauses.
Raw uploads expire after 2 days. Originals, reports, fixed files and proofs are kept until you delete the job, so you can download them again from the dashboard. Deleting a job deletes its files.
No. Filecheck only uses your files to check, fix and deliver them for you.
